WHAT IS ACP

        ACP stand for Assistant Commissioner of Police.It is the post given to the police officer of the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police or Deputy Superintendent of Police.It is the higher rank in the Indian Police Service.This rank is achieved by either by direct selection through Union Public Service Commission or by promoted from the state police cadre after successful completion of 15-20 years of service.In both ways minimum educational qualification is graduation.

 RESPONSIBILITIES OF ACP

  1. ACP is responsible for controlling the administration and daily operations of the department like a criminal and other related offences.

 2. To provide citizens view to implement in police department's policies,actions and decisions.

 3. He is responsible to perform his duties according to the rules and regulations and abide by the laws of the constitution.

 4. He is responsible for producing the required reports to his higher authority whenever demanded.
