WHAT IS SAARC

       SAARC stand for South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.It is a regional intergovernmental organisation and geopolitical union of states in South Asia.It was established for the cooperation among the member satate.Its member states are Afghanistan,Bangladesh,Bhutan,India,the Maldives,Nepal,Pakistan and Srilanka.

       SAARC  was established in Dhaka on 8 December 1985.Its secretariat is in Kathmandu,Nepal.This organisation promotes economical development of economic and regional bonding.One of the main aim of this organisation is to maintain peace and prosperity in South Asia because of the many ongoing conflicts in the region.Political dialogue is often conducted on the platform of SAARC meeting to maintain peace and prosperity in the region
