WHAT IS SIM

            SIM stand for Subscriber Identification Module. It is small portable memory chip,with the help of this chip users can make phone calls across the world where subscriber's network is available. SIM is generally used in mobile phones that operates on GSM network. It is portable and user can use it any supporting mobile phone.

SIZE OF SIM

           When SIM card was invented,its size was almost of the size of a credit card. But nowadays the sim cards which are available has the dimension 15mm by 12 mm. Presently some smart phones uses micro and nano SIM cards which are in different in size and are very small.

INFORMATION STORED BY SIM CARDS


        The SIM card contains necessary information and personal data which are as follows -

 1.  Phone number
2. Address Book
3. Network Authorization Data
4.Text Message
5. Personal security Keys and some other data.

     It contains a unique serial no which is called International Mobile Subscriber Identity.
