SYMPTOMS OF THE OSTEOPOROSIS

The early stage  of osteoporosis  don't cause any symptoms. In most cases people with osteoporosis are not aware of this condition until they have a fracture.  The following are the indicative symptoms which may appear---

  • Receding gums
  • Weakened grip strength
  • Weak and brittle nails
Since symptoms not appear clearly so in older age every one should go for bone density test which will reveal the the condition of the bone. In case of family history regular bone checking is important in even younger age.

CAUSES OF OSTEOPOROSIS

 1.   The biggest risk factor of osteoporosis is age. Throughout the life body breaks down old bone and grow new bone. As individual gets older the rate of breaking down of bone is faster and body is not able to replace it at the same rate, hence bone becomes less dense and weaker and thus more prone to breakage.

2.  Menopause is another primary risk of factor of osteoporosis which occurs in women after age of 45 years, the menopause age may vary according to the physical and psychological condition. In cause of menopause due to change in hormone level women's body may lose bone more quickly. Comparatively at the same age men lose bone at slower rate.

The some other causes are as follows ---
  •
  •  Being female
  • Having a family history of osteoporosis
  • Poor nutrition
  • Smoking
  • Physical inactivity

TREATMENT OF OSTEOPOROSIS

If anyone diagnosed with osteoporosis doctor will create treatment which will include both medication as well as adopting some lifestyle changes which will improve the condition of the individual. The changing life style may include increasing intake of calcium and vitamin D and doing appropriate exercise. Proper treatment may help to protect and strengthen bone. The treatment also reduce the rate of breakdown of bone and spur the growth of new bone.
