WHAT IS AIDS


   The full form of AIDS is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It is a disease of human immune system caused by the virus called human immunodeficiency virus. It is a disease which may progress for a long period of time without any symptoms. As infection progress it decrease the immune system of the body and infected person becomes too weak and suffering from infections like influenza, tumors, tuberculosis, asthma etc. There are three stages of HIV infection which are 

1. Acute HIV infection 

2. Chronic HIV infection 

3. AIDS/ advance infection

 MODE OF TRANSMISSION OF AIDS

        AIDS can be tansmitted from person to person in many ways.

1. Intercourse with an infected person without protection.

2. By blood transfusion 

3. Through a donated organ received from an infected donar.

4. By the use of hypodermic needles.

5. From infected mother to a child 

SYMPTOMS OF AIDS

   The following are symptoms of the AIDS

1. Rapid weight loss 

2. Sore Throat 

3. Recurring fever with extreme night sweats 

4. Tiredness, muscles and joint pains
