FULL FORM OF MRI

                                    WHAT IS MRI

MRI stand for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. A magnetic resonance imaging scan produces an image of the body using a strong magnet and radio waves. The advantage of MRI over other diagnostic imaging test is that MRI can show the muscles, ligaments, nerve root and tendons. MRI does not have the radiation risk compare to other tests like x-ray and CT scans.

                               FUNCTION OF MRI

When patient exposed to the magnet in an MRI machine, the hydrogen protons present in the body align with the magnetic field to face the same direction. A radio waves the sent through the body ,flipping the protons either  degree or 180 degree away from the magnetic field. when he radio waves turned off ,the protons gradually realign to the MRI's magnetic field, releasing energy in the process. On the basis of amount of energy released and the time it takes protons to realign ,the MRI can differentiate between types of tissue to create a detailed image.

USES OF MRI

The use of MRI is a wide range because of its accuracy and harmless effect to detect and diagnose the problems such as----

1.  Trauma to the head and brain.

2. In case of spinal problem.

3. In case of joints and bone problem.

4.  To detect the brain tumors.

5. Trauma to the head or brain.

6. In case of heart problem and stroke.

7. To detect the abnormalities of brain and spinal cord.

8. To detect the Liver and other other abdominal diseases.

9. To detect the Uterine abnormalities in women.
