    ABOUT ELLORA CAVES

                  Ellora caves is in the Aurangabad district of Maharasthra,India. It is one of the largest rock cut monastery temple cave in the world. it is featuring Buddhist,Hindu and jain monuments. This cave is belong to the period 6th and 9th century. There are 17 Hindu caves ,12 Buddhist and five Jain caves over at the site. There are built close to one another and example of religious harmony that existed in ancient India. The Ellora caves along with the nearby Ajanta caves ,are a major tourist attraction in Maharasthra.

              Ellora is famous for Hindu,Buddhist and jain cave temples. It was built during the rule of Kalachuri,Chalukya,and Rashtrakuta dynasties.


OPENING DAY AND TIMING OF ELLORA CAVES

           The caves are open from 0800 am to 0530 pm .The Ajanta caves remain closed on Tuesday. The caves can be visited rest of the day.

        Aurangabad railway station is the nearest railway station to Ellora caves. distance is approx 28 km.

NEAREST AIRPORT TO ELLORA CAVES

      Aurangabad Airport is the nearest airport to the Ellora caves. This airport connects Mumbai,Delhi and Hyderabad. Distance is approx 35 km from Aurangabad airport to the Ellora caves.
