ABOUT RED FORTE

            The Red Fort  is a historic forte in the city of Delhi In India. It serve as the main residence of the Mugal Emperor. Every year on the Independence day of India,the Prime Minister hoist the Indian flag  at the main gate of the forte and delivers a nationally broadcast speech.

OVERVIEW OF LAL KILA

           Lal Kila is constructed in 1639 by the fifth Mugal Emperor Shah Jahan as the palace of his fortified capital Shahjahanabad. It is named as Lal Kila because it enclosed with walls of red sandstone. The imperial apartment consist of a row of pavilions ,connected by a water channel known as the Stream of Paradise. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007 as part of the Red Fort Complex.
       Its design is credited to architect Ustad Ahmad Lahori. The forte lies along the Yamuna River.

    One can go by metro also .The nearest metro station to Red fort is Chandni             Chowk on yellow line

         Nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The distance from airport to Lal Kila is approx 20 km.

TIMING OF THE LAL KILA
