WHAT IS DDT

     DDT stand for Dichloro Diphenyl Trichloroethane. DDT is a tasteless,colorless and odorless substance. It is poisonous for human and animals. Basically it is used agriculture and farming to kill the insects and protect the crops. It has the insecticidal properties.

     The molecular formula of DDT is C14 H19 CL. It is highly hydrophobic and not soluble in water but it is soluble in most of the organic solvents such as oil and facts. When it is sprayed on plants ,the insects residing on plants are comes in contact to it ,it affects the insects neuron which lead to death.
