WHAT IS DSP
DSP stand for Deputy Superintendent of Police. DSP is a state police officer who represents state police force of India. DSP is equivalent rank to Assistant Commissioner of Police. Inspectors are also promoted to this rank after rendering the certain years of service.ELIGIBILITY FOR DSP
The candidates who are seeking to become DSP have to appear in the state level exam conducted by the State Public Service Commission. The candidate who qualify this exam undergo probationary training before getting the rank of DSP.
Candidate must have the following eligibility criteria for becoming the DSP which are as follows-
1. He must be a citizen of India.
2. He must have completed graduation in any stream from a recognised university.
3. He must attain the age of 21 year and should not be more than 30 years of age. For SC/ST candidate there is a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
4.Apart from the above educational eligibility candidate must have some physical standard which is notify by the advertisement.
