WHAT IS EWS
The full form of EWS is Economically Weaker Section. EWS is a subcategory of people of India who belongs to general category and whose annual income is less than 8 lakh and do not belong to any other reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC.The meaning of EWS is defined by the government of India. It is different from economically backward class (EBC) and most economically class (MEBC).The central government has introduced 10% reservation quota for the economically weaker sections of general category candidates.
CRITERIA FOR EWS
1. Family income should be less than Rs 8 lakh per annum.
2. Agricultural land should be less than 5 acres.
3. Area of the residential flat should be less than 1000 sq ft.
4.Area of the residential plot should be less than 100/200 sq yards.
The rules may change by government by time to time.
