WHAT IS ROM

        ROM stand for Read Only Memory.  All computers have internal memory to store programs and data while computer is running. It is one type of main/internal memory of the computer.

      In this memory,information once stored remains fixed and cannot be changed. So ROM can only be read and used ,it cannot be changed and written on to. ROM contains a set of start-up instructions i.e what to do when a computer is turned on. The contents of ROM remains stored when power is turned off.
