WHAT IS SOS

     The full form of SOS is Save our Souls. It is also referred as Save our Ship,its meaning is "if needed'. This code signals that a person is in danger and needs immediate help. The SOS distress code is a sequence of three dots. In international Morse Code,three dots represents letter S and three dots represent letter O.

     This code was historically used by the ships to give danger signals. It was introduced on 01 April 1905 by the German government in radio regulation .It became the globally standard after it was included in the second international Radiotelegraphic Convention. It became effective on 01 July 1908.It was replaced by Global Maritime Distress and Safety System in 1999.
