WHAT IS LCD

             LCD stand for Liquid Cristal Display. It is a flat panel display or video display which uses the light modulating property of liquid crystals. It is used to display images in many electronic devices. LCD display the arbitary image as well as fixed image. Arbitary images are like images on computer screen,on television screen and fixed images are like digital clock and calculators. It has replaced the old cathode rays tubes. It consumes less power compare to the CRT.

          LCDs are more energy efficient. It is always preferred to use in battery powered equipments due to its energy efficiency. LCD provides better clarity and efficiency compare to cathode rays tube i.e CRT. LCD is used in Computers,Mobile Phones,Smart Phones,Television,Calculators,Digital Clock,Laptop,Gaming devices etc.

PRINCIPLE OF WORKING

      It works on the principle of colour emission of liquid crystals.LCD is an electrically modulated optical device made up of segments filled with liquid crystal.LCD used the liquid crystals and polarise light to display the picture.
