WHAT IS UPS

      UPS stand for uninterrupted power supply or uninterrupted power source. It is an electric appliance that provides emergency power when the input power source or main main power fails.

IMPORTANCE OF UPS -

     UPS helps in keeping computer running for some time and provides enough time to save the data by the user. In medical field UPS is very important because while doing the surgery if power cut off then uninterrupted power source immediately starts and continued the supply. Now a days UPS is automatically starts when supply cut off.

TYPES OF UPS -

     There are two type of UPS system -

1.   STAND BY POWER SYSTEM -

      It is called offline UPS and line-interactive UPS. Whenever power is cut off it switches to stand by power system in few millisecond.

2.   ONLINE UPS -

    Online UPS supplies uninterrupted power from its own inverter. This supply is mostly used in computer and office supply store and where continuous power supply is required.
