        E-mail stand for electronic mail. It is the transmission of message over communications network. It is a message that may contain text,files,images or other attachments sent through a network to a specified individual or group of individuals.

INVENTION OF E-MAIL

       It is invented by Ray Tomlinson.

HOW E-mail WORKS

      It is operates across computer network which is today known as internet. Earlier e-mail system were required the sender and the recipient both be online while sending and receiving the mail. But today system are based on a store and forward model. E-mail servers accepts,store and forward .Neither sender or recipient of the mail is required to be online.

ADVANTAGE OF E-Mail

    It is very fast method of communication. Earlier in the absence of E-mail any communication was made by any sender and recipient was time taking. It is very helpful in business and other fields. Orders can be placed through E-mail. It is a written documents and legally accepted.
