WHAT IS DSC

              DSC stand for Digital Signature Certificate.It is a secured digital key issued by a certifying authority for the purpose of validating and certifying the identity of an individual or organisation.This certificate acts as a proof of identity of an individual for a definite purpose.A digital signature can be presented electronically to prove one's identity to access information on internet and to sign a document digitally.

              A digital signature  certificate contains information about the users name,pincode,email address,country,date of issue,date of expiry and name of the issuing authority.

 TYPES OF DSC
   
        Depending on the requirement DSC is of three types-

 1. CLASS-1 CERTIFICATE

         This certificate confirms that the information in the application provided by the subscriber matches with the information stored in the consumer database.

 2. CLASS-2 CERTIFICATE

        This certificate is also verifies a person against a trusted,pre-verified database.This certificate is relevant to situations where risk and consequences  of data compromise are moderate. This type of certificate is generally issued to the director and signatory authorities of a company or an organisation.

 3. CLASS-3 CERTIFICATE

     Class 3 type certificate is the highest level certificate.To get this certificate the son needs to present himself in front of a registration authority and prove his/her identity only then it is issued.

 ADVANTAGE OF DIGITAL SIGNATURE CERTIFICATE

  1. AUTHENTICATION 

         It is used to authenticate the personal information and details of a person while doing business online.

 2.  REDUCING TIME AND COST

       With the help of DSC a PDF file can be signed and sent it to receiver quickly,instead of signing a hard copy of a document.It reduce the cost of paper.The digital signature certificate holder is not required to present physically to authorise a business.

 3. DATA SAFETY

     The digitally signed documens cannot be altered or edited so the data remains safe and secure.
