WHAT IS NASA:  (NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION)


          It is a USA government agency that works for the civilian space programme as well as aeronautics ,scientific discovery.It was established by the National Aeronautics and space act on 01 Oct 1958 by the president Dwight D.Eisenhower. The function of NASA is developed for peaceful application in space science.

NASA VISION:

         To discover and expand knowledge for the benefit of humanity.The headquarter of NASA is in Washington in America.It has 10 NASA centers across the united states and has 7 NASA work place for testing and studying Earth and space.

      NASA has conducted both manned and unmanned space flight programme. Some of its famous space flight programme are as follow:

1. MANNED SPACE PROGRAMME:   

    
        Some of NASA's major manned space programme are as follow:

A.   X-15 Rocket plan (1959-1968)
B.   Project Mercury (1959-1963)
C    Project Gemini    (1961-1966)
D    Project Apolo      (1961-1972)

            Apolo was one of the most expensive NASA scientific programme ever.The first Moon landing manned apacecraft was Apolo 11 mission in July 1969.The first person who lands on the moon was Neil Armstrong.
E.    Skylab  (1965-1979)
F.     Space Shuttle Programme  (1972-2001) etc

2.  UNMANNED SPACE PROGRAMME  

      There are over 1000 unmanned mission of NASA to explore the earth and other planets in the solar system .Furthermore,NASA also launches communication satellites for the welfare of humane society.
