FULL FORM OF NABARD
WHAT IS NABARD
The full form of NABARD is National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. It was established by an act of parliament to enforce the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development act 1981. It was established on 12th July 1982. Its headquarter is in Mumbai and its branches are located all over the country. NABARD is an apex development bank which provides facility to credit flow for development of small industries, cottage industries, agriculture and other small businesses in rural areas.
PURPOSE OF NABARD
1. NABARD regulates the financial institutions which finance the rural sector businesses.
2. It regulates the cooperative banks and RRBs.
3. It acts as apex financial institutions for the various development programmes in rural areas.
4. NABARD provides training facility to the institutions which work for rural development.
