FULL FORM OF FAO

                 Full form of FAO is Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations. This organisation is a specialised agency of the United Nations that deals international efforts to defeat hunger and improve the nutrition and food security among the countries which are affected with this problem.

ESTABLISHMENT AND HEADQUARTER OF FAO

This organisation was established in Oct 1945. Its headquarter is in Rome,Italy.

AIM OF THIS ORGANISATION

This organisation has the following works in its fight against hunger programme.

 1. It helps member country how to eradicate hunger,malnutrition and implementation of food security by facilitating policies and political commitments and providing up-to-date information to cater the hunger and nutritional challenges.

 2.  This organisation provides evidence based policies and practices to make agricultural,forestry, and fishery more productive and sustainable.

 3.  This organisation help to promote the rural development through rural employment and social protection. It also help in how to utilise the optimum use of natural resources so everyone can get the advantage of the resources.

 4.  This organisation helps to its member country to implement efficient agricultural and food system to reduce poverty and hunger in that particular area.

 5.  This organisation help countries to prepare to cater natural and human caused disaster to enhancing the resilience of their food and agriculture system.

It is a wholly owned subsidiary of NSE which is responsible for clearing and settlement of all trades executed on NSE and deposit and collateral management and risk management function.It was the first clearing corporation to be established in India and introduced as settlement guarantee before it became a regulatory requirement.
