FULL FORM OF BMR
WHAT IS BMR
BMR stand for Basal Metabolic Rate. It is the amount of energy required by the body to maintain life or vital functions in the resting position at a comfortable temperature without eating or digesting any food.CALCULATION OF BMR IN HUMANS
The following formula is used to calculate the BMR-P= (10.0 x m/1kg)+ (6.25 X h/1cm)-(5.00 x a/1 year) + s
In the above formula-
P= Total heat production while at rest
m= Weight of a person in kilograms
h= Height of a person in centimeter
a= Age of a person in year
s= Constant (+5 for males and -161 for females)
