                                 WHAT IS ACTH

     ACTH stand for Adrenocorticotropic hormone. It is a hormone which stimulates the production of cortisol. Cortisol is a steroid hormone produced by the adrenal gland which is important for regulating glucose,protein and lipid metabolism,suppressing he immune system response and helping to maintain blood pressure. It is produced by the pituitary gland .
